Caregiving is a business issue. New Resource! Caregivers in the Workplace June, 2011 In Wisconsin there are over 500,000 employees who collectively provide 558 million hours of help for a senior relative each year. The average age of the family caregiver is 47 years old. Many employees faced with the stress of working, caring for an older adult, and often also raising their own children, must decrease their hours or simply leave the workforce. This results in expensive turnover costs for businesses. The Caregiver Connection provides workplace education for employers and employees, and resources to help employees find help in Waukesha County.
